2022 Competitive Grant Applications due March 11, 2022
The Branford Community Foundation (BCF) is pleased to announce that the 2022 competitive grant application materials are now available on our website. Applications are due by March 11th, 2022.
BCF remains focused on addressing the impact of and recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. In the 2022 competitive grant making cycle, BCF has prioritized the following issues as we review grant applications (in no order):
- Assist those that have been hardest hit by the COVID19 pandemic, including basic needs: food, shelter, emergency financial assistance.
- Consider federal ARPA (America Rescue Plan Act) resources where possible to ensure coordinated impact, avoid duplication of funding and fill in any gaps.
- Consider efforts towards recovery and disparities in access to services and support.
- Mental health services, including those programs that create joy in the Branford community.
- Strive for high impact rather than spreading funding to a number of applications.
- Youth services.
Prior to beginning an application for 2022, please be sure to carefully review the grant guidelines on our website. To help navigate the process, BCF will hold a virtual (Zoom) Grant Application Workshop on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 10:00am. BCF seeks grants that enhance the quality of life in Branford. Grant applications should address a need within the focus area and demonstrate impact on the organization, project, community, or persons served. In 2021, BCF awarded 20 grants through its competitive grant making process. These grants mostly ranged from $700 to $10,600 with an average award being around $4,500.
BCF is proud to be able to address emerging needs that impact our community. Our ability to provide these grants, however, is only possible thanks to those who generously support the Branford Community Foundation’s mission to “connect people who care with the causes that matter to them.” Thanks to this generosity, our investments into the community continue to grow and we are able to respond to needs as they arise.
