The Shaw family consists of many visual, performing and literary artists of diverse disciplines in both a professional and amateur capacity. They all share the conviction that the arts add beauty and joy to life and elevate the human spirit by providing inspiration, entertainment, education, and meaningful outlets for personal and cultural expression.

All the greatest artists have not already lived and died. It is hoped that the annual scholarship from the Shaw Family Fund for the Arts will in some small way support and encourage new artists to pursue their dreams and contribute their artistic vision for the enrichment of society.

The Shaw Family Fund for the Arts was established in 2025 as a restricted fund to provide a scholarship for a BHS senior who has demonstrated a passion for the arts.
