Going Strong BCF’s Annual Report

We’re thrilled to share that we set a record this year! We’re thrilled to share that we set a record this year! Thanks to generous donations from people like you and strong investment returns, the Branford Community Foundation was able to increase assets by 16 percent to $2.4 million in 2017, enabling us to better serve our community and fulfill our mission “to connect people who care with the causes that matter.”

Here are a few other inspiring highlights from 2017:

Beautifying Blackstone
We awarded our biggest grant ever to the James Blackstone Memorial Library. To energize local support for the library renovation and expansion, BCF matched each library donation dollar up to $1,000, helping the library to meet its goal and raising $100,000 within a year.

More Giving than Ever!
In 2017, we donated an all-time high of $116,970, awarding 16 competitive grants, 23 scholarships, and additional leadership initiatives while establishing 5 new funds!

Streamlining Grant Applications
In an effort to make our grant investments fair, transparent, and impactful, we revised the grant application guidelines and the grant application itself, simplifying our process by moving to a single, one-month annual deadline between February 15 and March 15.
