Branford Community Foundation Awards $1,700 Grant to Camp Hazen YMCA

The Branford Community Foundation, the leader in supporting a variety of local philanthropic needs, programs and services for 35 years, has distributed a $1,700 grant to Camp Hazen YMCA for financial assistance for Branford youth to attend summer camp.

Founded in 1920 in Chester Connecticut, Camp Hazen YMCA is a year-round camping, outdoor education and conference center committed to helping youth develop valuable life skills through camping experiences that build healthy bodies, open minds and awakened spirits. Summer Resident Camp (3rd – 10th grade), Day Camp (1st – 6th grade), Leadership Training (11th grade) and Group Camping programs serve thousands of young people each year. Camp Hazen YMCA is accredited by the American Camp Association and provides camping experiences to all youth regardless of a camper’s ability to pay.

The Branford Community Foundation grant award represents the full cost of one two-week Resident Camp session and will provide financial assistance to three Branford youth.
