Town Proclaims April 2026 Branford Volunteer Month for Second Year
The Branford Community Foundation (BCF) and BranfordVolunteers.org are thrilled to announce that the Town of Branford has, for the second year, officially designated April 2026 as Branford Volunteer Month.
The proclamation from the town highlights the impact that Branford residents have made on the community for decades in volunteer roles and celebrates the time and energy that volunteers have given to make a difference, improve the lives of others, and perform acts of goodwill.
“Branford is a community rooted in service, and nonprofits are at the core of that work,” Branford First Selectman Josh Brooks shared. “Branford Volunteer Month gives us the opportunity to recognize and thank the individuals and organizations that are dedicating their time to helping others.”
The town also once again recognized the impact BranfordVolunteers.org has made on volunteering in the community. BranfordVolunteers.org, the website launched in 2024 by the Branford Community Foundation in collaboration with the Blackstone Library and Antonym Partners, connects volunteers and the organizations that need them. With over 55 registered organizations, hundreds of connections have been made since the site launched, bringing together skilled volunteers and nonprofits that rely on their support.
“Our mission at the Foundation is grounded in connecting people who care with causes that matter,” said BCF Executive Director Liza Janssen Petra. “We are proud to provide BranfordVolunteers.org as a resource to further the volunteer efforts in our community.”
BranfordVolunteers.org is free to use and offers organizations a space to list their volunteer roles, events, and needs. Interested volunteers can then connect with nonprofits directly from the site to begin their volunteering journey. Learn more at BranfordVolunteers.org.
