Fund
Large and small contributions and memorials have been combined to form the unrestricted General Fund.
The Andriole Family Fund
In 1997 Charles Andriole, a Branford resident, wanted to give something back to his community. He set up the fund with a donation of $1000.00 and a pledge to grow the fund over the years. The fund is undesignated
The H. Allen Carroll Fund
H. Allen Carroll, a Founding Benefactor of the Branford Community Foundation, served as its first president. Contributions from his family and friends were added to the undesignated fund at the time of his death.
The Clark Family Fund
The pledged fund was created in 1998 on the death of Harold D. Clark, Jr. by his family and friends. The family has suggested that the proceeds be used to support the continuing endeavors of the Branford Counseling Center and the Branford Land Trust.
The A. Peter and Fae Delfini Memorial
Fund
The undesignated fund was established in memory of A. Peter Delfini at the time of his death and was broadened to include Fae Delfini in 1990.
The Darin G. Etzel Fund
The Branford Community Foundation was funded initially by gifts in memory of Darin Etzel, the son of David and Mary Margaret Etzel, whose childhood death stirred the community to action. Subsequently the undesignated fund was broadened to include George J. Etzel and Mary Margaret Etzel.
The Ellen Mcdonnell Ferguson Memorial
Scholarship Fund
This fund, established by the family and friends of Ellen Ferguson upon her untimely death, will provide an annual scholarship to a Branford Public School senior showing the greatest improvement in the area of English.
The P.J. Ferriolo Memorial Fund
The designated fund was established by his family in
memory of P.J. Ferriolo after his untimely death. An
annual award is made to a student from Branford who
intends to pursue a career in aviation. (See

The Vincent S. Giordano, Sr.,
Scholarship Fund
Established by his family in memory of Vincent S. Giordano, Sr. In 2003 this fund, formerly called the Giordano Family Fund, was significantly increased and redefined as a scholarship fund, for graduating seniors pursuing an interest in the construction/building industry.
The Donald W. Grigley Memorial
Fund
Established in 2004 by his family, this fund's mission is to benefit the Branford Volunteer Services Center, an organization which Mr. Grigley felt embodied the spirit of the Branford community.
The Harry and Abby Johnson Fund
A life-long Branford resident, Harry Johnson established the fund and requested that it remain anonymous until after his death. The fund is undesignated.
The William C. and Barbara R.
Lyons Fund
The Lyons' generosity over the years has provided the Foundation with funds for grants throughout the community. Although the fund is undesignated, grants to the Branford Food Council, considered on an annual basis, are distributed from this source. (See Fund Highlight)
The Mobeck Family Fund
Established by members of the Mobeck family in gratitude for all that the community has given to them over the years, the fund is undesignated.
The John and Carol Moss Fund
In honor of their fiftieth anniversary, the Mosses requested contributions to the Foundation. Since that time additional donations have been made to the undesignated fund, and in memory to John, who gave so much to Branford, on his death in 2003.
The William Owens, Jr. and Attorney
Robert Owens Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund is funded by William Owens, Jr. in memory of his brother Robert Owens. The annual scholarship of $500 will be given to a graduating senior who is a Branford resident either in public or private high school, who plans to further his or her education at either Yale University or Boston College. The criteria for the scholarship will be financial need, citizenship, grade point average and community involvement. The Mari-Ellen Reed Memorial Nursing
Scholarship Fund
After her untimely death, the family of Mari-Ellen Reed created the designated fund to benefit Branford students interested in pursuing a career in nursing. This fund will provide scholarships to be made to a graduating Branford High School senior through the Branford High School Scholarship Fund.
The Austin Ryer Memorial Scholarship
Fund
Friends of Austin Ryer, who was killed in World War II, established the designated fund in his memory. An annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from the Branford High School.
The John B. Sliney Fund
The designated fund was established in memory of John B. Sliney at the time of his death. Annual awards are made to a graduating boy and girl from the Branford Senior High School.
The Eleanor Taylor Fund
The Eleanor Taylor Fund was established on her death by her family and friends. The fund is undesignated.
The Donald and Mary Lou Welch
Fund
This memorial fund was established in 2004 by Donald
and Mary Lou Welch's daughter, Ginger Dendas, to honor
her parents and their love for the town of Branford.

The Linda Edsall Winward Scholarship Fund This fund will offer an annual scholarship to a Branford High School graduating senior to pursue interests in teaching, international affairs, cultural diversity or child development. (See Fund Highlight)
The Linda Edsall Winward and Walter Winward Fund
This fund will assist with the needs of the music programs in Branford elementary and middle schools for which funding may not otherwise be available. (See Fund Highlight)
