To apply for a Branford Community Foundation grant, you must complete a Preliminary Application. This application seeks very general information to aid the Foundation in determining whether the program/service proposed addresses an area of community need in which the Foundation has an interest; establishes objectives consistent with the Foundation's funding priorities; and sets forth funding needs which are realistic given the Foundation's financial limitations.

In 2006, the Branford Community Foundation supported the efforts of many volunteers in the restoration of the SHORT BEACH UNION CHURCH with a $2,000.00 grant. The goal of the project is to return the church to its original appearance as it looked in 1883, the year it was built. The church has been used to hold non-denominational services since that time as well as many community activities.

Lily and her kitten are just a few of many mother cats and kittens rescued from unfortunate circumstances and placed in temporary foster homes where they are given excellent care. The BRANFORD COMPASSION CLUB rescues over 200 kittens a year. All of the cats and kittens are tested, immunized, and neutered before they are adopted out to new homes. The Branford Community Foundation was pleased to help the BCC with their important efforts in 2006 with a grant of $1,000.00.
