To apply for a Branford Community Foundation grant, you must complete a Preliminary Application. This application seeks very general information to aid the Foundation in determining whether the program/service proposed addresses an area of community need in which the Foundation has an interest; establishes objectives consistent with the Foundation's funding priorities; and sets forth funding needs which are realistic given the Foundation's financial limitations.

SHORELINE ARTS ALLIANCE
The Shoreline Arts Alliance is a source of cultural events and competitions for all ages. With support from the Branford Community Foundation, they offer free events, including Shakespeare on the Shoreline, Concerts on the Green, KAZOO: Fun for Kids & Families, IMAGES photography exhibition, Future Choices high school art show, Student Scholarship Showcase performances, and the Tassy Walden Awards for children's literature.

SHORT BEACH UNION CHURCH
The Short Beach Union Church, one of the oldest non-denominational churches in the state, is listed on the State Register of Historic Places. In 2005, a committee proposed restoring the church to its original appearance from 1883. Phase I, restoring the exterior, was completed in 2006. Phase II, replacement of the roof, was completed in July 2008, thanks to funds from the Branford Community Foundation and donations from local residents.
